A modern one act version of Shakespeare's play, Twelfth Night. This adaptation is a fast-paced comedy in one act with several interwoven plots of romance, mistaken identities, practical jokes and plenty of pineapples. Separated from her twin brother Sebastian in a shipwreck, Viola disguises herself as a boy, calls herself Vinny, and becomes a bouncer at the local cocktail bar, Duke's. The owner, Duke sends her to chat up the local hotel owner, Olivia on his behalf, but Olivia falls in love with Vinny. Meanwhile Olivia’s staff, Toby, Andrew and Maria a trick on Malvolia, Olivia’s hotel manager and set her up on a date with Lenny, Duke's bar manager. Eventually Sebastian turns up with his friend Toni and causes even more confusion.
This is particularly suitable for youth groups or schools with children aged 13 and over.
