ONE ACT PLAY
Margins of Eternity follows Alaric, a stressed young writer suffering from severe writer’s block. After arguing with his sister and drowning in the works of literary greats, he falls asleep and is thrust into a surreal dream where icons of literature—W.W. Jacobs, H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, Jane Austen, and Arthur Miller—literally appear in his living room. Each author embodies their unique style and argues loudly about what Alaric’s writing should be. Their egos clash, genres collide, and chaos explodes, culminating in a fierce debate on art, gender, and creativity. As tensions reach a peak, Poe guides Alaric toward a powerful realization: his voice will emerge not by copying others but by confronting universal truths. Alaric awakens inspired, ready to write a modern adaptation of Everyman. The play ends with a final comedic twist, returning to reality with lingering evidence of the dream.Margins of Eternity follows Alaric, a stressed young writer suffering from severe writer’s block.
