Upon hearing that a girl that he’d known briefly during a schoolboy/schoolgirl romance had returned to his local area, Howard is intrigued by this situation, considering the lengthy sixty-six year period that has elapsed since that romantic time they had spent together but he decides to take the bull by the horns and pay her an un-notified visit. He doesn’t immediately find the courage to be open and honest about his need to be at Lady Oxshott’s residence so he manages to ‘play his way in’ by feigning to be the expected
job applicant ... a Mr Dodds. While continuing this deception he learns of certain shenanigans within the family which could cause peril to her Ladyship and he resolves to identify the main culprit and to thwart the danger that is facing his bygone young beauty.
