A group of teenagers find themselves on the platform of a strange tube station, trying to come to terms with what has happened to them. Are they victims of the terrible tragic accident that occurred at the entrance to the newly built Bethnal Green Station in which 173 people were crushed to death in 1943? Their fictional story is interspersed with the characters and record of the actual Inquiry that took place subsequently. Peter Nixon brings to light many facts that were withheld from the public at the time in this beautifully written but, at times, harrowing drama.
