This remarkable piece of theatre takes place in Purgatory where Mozart is making an account of his life and the music in his head. It is made up of thirteen monologues interspersed with the finest works of this musical genius. Mozart is speaking to the audience, who have been granted access to Purgatory in order that they may help him reach Heaven.
The piece may be performed by a single actor playing Mozart or shared between three – childhood, adolescence, maturity. The musical interludes may be recorded or, ideally, as live performances.
